Abaco Thoroughbred Aftercare is a Kentucky-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to giving retired racehorses a successful second career. We take in Thoroughbreds directly from the track, provide the veterinary care, rehabilitation, and retraining they need, and carefully match them with loving adoptive homes.

Founded by horse professionals with more than 20 years of experience retraining Thoroughbreds, our mission is to ensure every horse has the opportunity to thrive beyond racing. Every donation, large or small, helps provide feed, farrier care, vaccinations, dental work, castrations, emergency veterinary care, and training that prepares these incredible horses for their next chapter.
