Hundreds of horses are shipped to Puerto Rico every year. Hundreds more are abandoned on our roadsides, left to starve.

This is the reality we fight against every single day.

At the foothills of the rainforest, Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare has been a safe haven for horses for over a decade. We take in at risk horses, We rehabilitate them. We give them back their dignity.

But rescue alone isn't enough to change the future for horses on this island. That's why we also run our Equine Academy — educating the community in equine management and welfare so that fewer horses end up suffering in the first place.
