After the Finish Line (ATFL) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that awards Monthly Grants to aftercare organizations across the United States. These organizations rehabilitate, retrain, rehome and/or retire Off Track Thoroughbreds. Our charity is also dedicated to the welfare of Thoroughbreds in training that never raced and Thoroughbred foals, broodmares, and stallions.

Aftercare organizations require funding to transition their horses into second careers or retirement due to injuries. These organizations can apply for our Monthly Grants for expected and unexpected expenses that include surgery, veterinarian, medication, supplements, farrier, dental, chiropractor, vaccines, hay, feed, training, boarding, transportation and/or auction rescue. The talent of these horses goes far beyond the racetrack. Our grants help Thoroughbreds get adopted to loving homes and gives them the opportunity to transition into second careers as a hunter, jumper, dressage, eventer, western, trail, therapy and/or companion horse.

Since November 2007, After the Finish Line has awarded 895 grants helping more than 5,900 Thoroughbreds in thirty-two States, Canada and Puerto Rico. After the Finish Line gives hope and second chances to these deserving horses that have no other means of support.
