Desert Oasis Rescue Inc

Desert Oasis Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to giving Thoroughbreds and other equines a second chance. A large part of our mission is pulling horses directly from rehabilitation facilities, providing them with the medical care, training, and support they need to recover and thrive. We also provide sanctuary for horses that are unable to be rehomed, ensuring they receive lifelong care, safety, and dignity.

Located in beautiful Northwest Tucson and surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, our facility provides a peaceful environment where horses can heal and flourish. Many of the horses that come into our care arrive underweight, neglected, or in need of extensive rehabilitation. Through individualized care, proper nutrition, veterinary support, and training, we are proud to see these horses regain weight, strength, confidence, and quality of life.

Currently, we have 23 Thoroughbreds on-site in our care, with additional horses placed in foster, training, and rehabilitation programs off-site. Through rehabilitation, retraining, responsible placement, and sanctuary, we help horses transition into loving homes, new careers, or permanent refuge.

We are grateful to be accredited and supported by organizations including the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, Thoroughbred Charities of America, and California Retirement Management Account, along with many other organizations and donors who help make our mission possible. Their support allows us to continue providing quality care and opportunities for the horses entrusted to us.

Funds raised through Gallop for Good directly support veterinary care, feed, farrier services, training, transportation, and the daily expenses required to care for the horses in our program. Every donation helps us continue giving these horses the opportunity for a safe, healthy, and productive future.
