$5,000 Goal

The Kentucky Horse Park, located on over 1,200 acres in the heart of Kentucky, is known throughout the horse industry and to nearly one million annual visitors as a competition facility and working horse farm, as well as a historic and serene tourist destination. Throughout its history, it has remained firmly committed to honoring man’s relationship with the horse. The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation is solely dedicated to raising private philanthropic support to benefit the Kentucky Horse Park and its programs.

Since its inception in 1985, the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation has raised over $40 million, helping make the Kentucky Horse Park the leading equestrian facility of its kind in the world. Revenue generated from visitor fees and support from the Commonwealth of Kentucky only provide a portion of the funding needed to operate the Kentucky Horse Park. Contributions from the private sector are vital to filling the gap and achieving the vision for the Park as the world’s leading equestrian destination as a working horse farm, a world-renowned center for show and competition, and an international center for equine education.

Funds generated through the Gallop for Good campaign will be directed towards the Kentucky Horse Park Hall of Champions, a sanctuary for retired champion horses. This management includes providing care for the retired champion Thoroughbreds residing there. Currently, Thoroughbred racing legends Accelerate and Roy H reside in the Hall of Champions, and former residents John Henry, Cigar, Funny Cide, Point Given, Da Hoss, and Go for Gin have been laid to rest there. Visitors from around the world visit the Hall of Champions to not only meet the champion Thoroughbreds, but also to pay their respects to those champion horses that made the Kentucky Horse Park their final home. The Hall of Champions introduces visitors to the excitement of the racetrack and offers retired champion racehorses a wonderful venue to serve as goodwill ambassadors for the sport.
